M Volleyball: Falcons fall twice in tri-match action

FRANKLIN, MASS. – The Fisher College Men's Volleyball team dropped two matches against North Park University and Dean College in Pieri Gymnasium. With the pair of losses, the Falcons fall to 0-11 overall. North Park rises to 11-11 while Dean moves to 3-9.

Game One: North Park University-Johnson 3, Fisher College 0 (Final)

The Falcons dropped the opener of the double-header to the Vikings by set scores of 25-9, 25-5, and 25-7.

Fisher's offense was set with a total of 4 kills by freshman classmates Jeremy Blau (Hudson, NH) and Carlos Diaz (Guayanabo, Puerto Rico) and sophomores Geovanni Blaugh (Copiague, NY) and Ethan Marshall (Melbourne, Australia). Blau also led the team in digs with 4 alongside junior Javier Garcia (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) who also had 4. Diaz followed while adding 3 digs in the loss.

North Park's offensive effort was led by freshman Adekunle Adebayo (Lagos, Nigeria) with 7 kills and 10 service ace points while followed by classmate Pablo Ocasio (Orlando, Fla.) with 6 kills and added 5 digs. Freshman Xander Duenas (Mongmong, Guam) had 4 kills and 7 service ace points. Sophomore Liam Miller (Rockford, Ill.) dished out 10 assists and Alejandro Condoy (Guayaquil, Ecuador) followed with 7 in the win for the Vikings.

Game Two: Dean College 3, Fisher College 0 (Final)

Fisher fell short while Dean was able to take the second three-set match by scores of 25-21, 25-12, and 25-14.

Marshall as well as senior Gustavo Cruz (Humacao, Puerto Rico) led the offense, having 5 kills a piece. Diaz dished out 7 assists, grabbed 5 digs, and added 3 kills for Fisher while freshman Kieza-Tre Walker (Honokaa, Hawaii) followed with 5 assists and 7 digs. Blau and Cruz chipped in with 6 digs as well for the Falcons.

Dean was led by senior Nick Carlson (Warwick, RI) with 6 kills and 10 digs while first-year Aurther Felicio (Brazil) followed with 6 kills and 3 service ace points. Senior Tyler Martins (East Providence, RI) added 5 kills and 11 digs and junior Aaron Fonseca (Cranston, RI) contributed 5 kills. First-year Hunter Armitage (Westerley, RI) dished out 23 assists and grabbed 5 digs in the win for the Bulldogs.

All teams will be back in action when they return to the court later this week. Fisher will be traveling to Colby-Sawyer on Tuesday the 28th with a 1pm start. North Park will host Augustana College on Saturday the 25th starting at 5pm. Dean will face Emmanuel at 7pm on Tuesday the 21st.
