Lady Falcons sweep triple header against UMPI

LYNN,MA-The Fisher College Softball team returned to the field Friday afternoon as they were able to defeat  non-conference  opponent University of Maine-Presque Island three times by the scores of 6-5, 10-7, and 21-15. Fisher improves to 3-14 on the season with the wins. 

Game 1

The Lady Falcons were able to jump out to a two run lead in the first inning with RBIs by Jade Bracero (Sophomore/ Hoboken, NJ) and Morgan Selmi (Freshman/Rohnert Park, CA). The Lady Falcons were able to keep the lead with strong pitching by Jayla Vega (Sophomore/ Hoboken, NJ) who gave up 5 unearned runs in a complete game effort to earn the win in the 6-5 game while also adding two RBIs herself.  Kristina Brown (Freshman/Dixon, CA) also had a great game at the plate with two hits including a home run and a triple as well as scoring two runs.

Game 2

In game two, Fisher found themselves in a 5-0 deficit before scoring 10 runs in four innings. Freshman Jordan Smith earned her first career win in the 10-7 victory as she went all seven innings giving up two earn runs. At the plate, Lady Falcons gained strong performance from the entire team as each member of the team was able to get a hit. Selmi, Brown, and Sophomore Christine Briggs (Mexico, ME) each gained three hits apiece.

Game 3

Fisher opened the game with a 10 run 1st inning that included Brown's five RBIs including a 2-run home run and 3-run double. The Lady Falcons were able to score a season-high 21 runs as every Lady Falcon was able to secure a hit for the second straight game.  Six different Lady Falcons were able to gain multiple RBIs including Brown's team-high eight RBIs. Vega gained the win in relief on the mound while also scoring four runs.

The Lady Falcons will return to action on Tuesday April 1st when they hit the road and travel across town to face Wentworth with start times at 4 PM.
