Falcons Swept By Delaware Valley

Titusville, FL -- The Fisher Falcons dropped a pair of contests to Delaware Valley Tuesday afternoon as they continue their 10 game road trip in Florida. The Falcons fell 4-3 in game one before falling victim to the mercy rule in a 24-0 defeat in game two.

Game One

Fisher jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first on an RBI single to Mikayla Zimmerman (2-for-4) that plated Morgan Selmi. However, Delaware would fight back, scoring three runs in the bottom of the third followed by a fourth run in the bottom of the sixth innings.

The Falcons attempted a late comeback in the top of the seventh inning but fell just short after scoring two runs. Kristina Brown belted her first home run of the season but the effort wasn't enough.

The Falcons finished with 12 hits on the day, a season high, including multi-hit efforts from Selmi (2-for-3), Brown (2-for-4), Zimmerman (2-for-4), Victoria Park (2-for-4), Cassandra Pillard (2-for-3) and Camila Da Silva (2-for-3).

Game Two

The offense shown in game one could not carry over to game two as the Falcons managed just three hits in the nightcap.  Selmi had a pair of hits while Kristina Brown added Fisher's third.

Delaware Valley scored in mutliple runs in each of the first four innings in route to its biggest victory of the season.  Mikalya Zimmerman took the loss in the circle for Fisher after allowing 20 earned runs on 21 hits and five walks.

The Falcons return to action Wednesday March 9th when they travel to Embry-Riddle University for a 4:00 pm doubleheader.
