Falcons drop pair to Emerson

BOSTON, Mass. - Fisher College dropped a pair of games to Emerson College on Friday, March 18.  The Falcons drop to 0-12 on the season while the Lions improve to 6-6.

In the first game, the Falcons took a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Jade Bracero hit a single to right field which was misplayed by the rightfielder scoring Morgan Selmi and Kristina Brown.  Selmi started the inning with a one-out single to right field.  Brown followed with a double to centerfield, putting runners on second and third.  

The Falcons could not catch a break the next few innings only getting one more hit in the game coming from Camila Da Silva.  Da Silva hit a shot to left field for a double, but was stranded at third.

Coming up big for the Lions were Jacqueline DeFusco and Kallista Leonardos who both had 2 homeruns. Jacqueline DeFusco was credited with 5 RBIs while Kallista Leonardos and Kodie Cash had 3 and 2 respectively.

Brown led the offence for the Falcons going 2-for-5 with two doubles.  Freshman Luz Evangelista got on base twice out of her four at-bats with a hit-by-pitch and a base-on-balls.

Carrying the loss in both games for Fisher was Mikayla Zimmerman, while Casey Tsamis and Samantha Corey got the split win for the Lions. 

Fisher will return to action Wednesday, March 23 when they travel to Rivier University for a 4:00 p.m. double-header.  Next up for the Lions is a double header on the road against Johnson & Wales on Saturday set for 12:00pm.
