KISSIMMEE, FLA. – The Fisher College Softball team wrapped up their spring trip this afternoon with a pair of setbacks to Lourdes University and William Penn University at THE Spring Games in Central Florida. The Falcons fell in the day's opener to Lourdes, 14-0, before dropping the finale to William Penn, 40-0. The two losses move the Fisher Softball team to an overall record of 0-8 to begin the season.

Game One: Lourdes University 14, Fisher College 0 (Final)

Freshman Yanesza Rowe (Lowell, Mass.) led off the game with a single and two batters later, freshman Haley Tilberry (Moosic, Pa.) added another hit however that would be all the Falcons would get as they lost the first game of the day's double-header, 14-0 to Lourdes University.

Rowe and Tilberry each finished the contest going 1-for-2 at the plate and both freshmen Charisse Lazu (Trujilo Alto, P.R.) and Ashleigh Onfroy (East Falmouth, Mass.) each worked a walk in the loss. Senior Corrie Edstrom (Shrewsbury, Mass.) was the losing pitcher as she allowed 14 runs (all earned) on 12 hits while issuing five walks and not recording a strikeout.

For Lourdes, they were guided by sophomore Ashley Riley (Oak Harbor, Ohio). The right-hander allowed just the two first inning hits on her way to a complete game shutout while striking out seven and walking three. Freshman Emily Wallace (Thornville, Ohio) went 3-for-4 and classmate Hailey Cramer (Sylvania, Ohio) added three RBI to pace the Grey Wolves offense.

Game Two: William Penn University 40, Fisher College 0 (Final)

The last game of the trip was one to forget as the Falcons surrendered 40 runs to a strong and powerful William Penn squad.

Edstrom received the loss as she allowed nine runs (eight earned) on four hits in her only inning of work. Tilberry then finished off the contest, throwing the final four frames giving up 31 runs (18 earned) on 27 hits. Tilberry was also the lone Falcon to record a hit as her single to lead off the fourth inning ended the no-hitter for William Penn. Lazu broke up the perfect game bid with a one-out walk in the second.

Statesman freshman Dakota Kulis (Chicago, Ill.) was dominant as she gave up just the one hit over five innings of work while striking out eight for her first win of the season. Senior Sonya Reedy (Tracy, Calif.) and freshman Valeria Quiroga (San Benito, Texas) each belted a home run and combined for 12 RBI in the win. Senior Hayley Freestone (Las Vegas, Nev.) also shined bright off the bench as she went 4-for-5 with three RBI.
