BOSTON, MASS. – Director of Athletics Scott Dulin announced the appointment of Mackenzie (Mackie) Chandler as the new Head Softball Coach at Fisher College on Friday afternoon.
"We are thrilled to welcome Mackie to Beacon Street," said Dulin. "Her love for the game, ability to connect with student-athletes, energy and passion for not only coaching, but teaching and developing young adults is a great addition to the Fisher Athletic Department and community. We are excited about the future of Fisher Softball under her leadership."
Chandler joins the program after spending last season at Allen Community College. The Red Devils posted a 22-27 record in her lone season while returning to the NJCAA post-season for the first time since 2019. With the Red Devils, Chandler coached two First-team All-KJCCC (Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference)/Region VI Division II First-team selections

I am eager to begin this journey, to work alongside the talented student-athletes and staff here, and to contribute to the tradition that Fisher stands for."
Prior to her stop in Kansas, she was an assistant varsity softball coach at Lake Mary (Fla.) High School In her only season at Lake Mary (2023), the Rams went 13-14 and was second in the Class 7A District standings. The team finished in the regional semifinals with a few former student-athletes earning college offers and one earning second team All-SAC honors.
Chandler also spent two seasons as an assistant varsity coach at Timber Creek (Orlando, Fla.) High School, where the Wolves went 19-8 in her first season (2019) and finished in the regional semifinals.
"This role is not just about coaching a sport, it's about building a culture of excellence, teamwork, and resilience – both on and off the field" continued Chandler. "My goal is to inspire and support our student-athletes as they grow into confident, successful individuals who take pride in representing Fisher College."
A native of Orlando, Fla., Chandler was a four-year standout on the diamond across several levels of collegiate softball. She finished her career in 2018 at Embry-Riddle, a NCAA Division II member, batting .326 (43-for-132) over 44 games and scoring 20 runs. The Eagles that season made a run into the DII National Tournament, finishing the season in the South Regional with a 33-15 record.
She spent her junior season at Appalachian State, a NCAA Division I member, appearing in 24 contests. Chandler enjoyed two seasons at NJCAA Division I member, Daytona State College. She earned First-Team All-Conference honors in her freshman season after finishing with a team-high .321 average and 44 stolen bases, ranking eleventh amongst junior colleges in the nation. She registered a .269 average while stealing 22 bases in her sophomore campaign before heading to Boone, N.C.
Chandler attended Winter Park High School, where she was a four-time letterwinner in Softball while earning All-Metro honors in her sophomore and junior seasons. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Embry-Riddle (Class of 2019) and she is also an Assistant Director of Admissions here at Fisher College.
