Lady Falcons overpowered by Daemen, 102-64

BOSTON, MA- The Lady Falcons of Fisher lost a mid-day home game today vs. Daemen College of New York, 102-64.

Daemen start the game on a 32 to 8 offensive surge. After falling down big, the Lady Falcons tried to get back into the game but Daemen never gave up the lead. Daemen led at half by a score of 63 to 23 over the Lady Falcons. Daemen outscored Fisher 54-8 in the paint.

 Senior Porsha Grayson (Merced, CA) lead the Lady Falcons with 15 points and 3 rebounds. Freshman Samantha Maldanado (Hoboken, NJ) tied with Grayson for the team lead in rebounds, also grabbing three rebounds. Monica Kosior lead Daemen with 18 points while Ellie Allen (14), Chealsea Andorka (11), and Raeann Stilwell (10) all added double digits in points. Allen also added in eight rebounds while Samantha Stanfield led the team with nine rebounds.

The second half was much of the same with Daemon keeping the large lead they held, but a bright note for the Lady falcons was Junior Javanna Bernard (Waterbury, Ct) was able to get her scoring touch back, scoring 20 of her points in the second half.

Grayson fished the game with a game-high 23 points. Bernard added in 22 points for Fisher. The Lady Falcons also received a near double-double from Sophomore Sabrina Rubaud (Brighton, MA), she had 10 points and nine rebounds. Allen ended the game as the team leader in points with 19 while Samantha Stanfield joined the double digit group for Daemen, she ended the game with 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Lindsay Stoddard added a game-high 15 assists.

The lady Falcons will now play on Sunday January 27, 2013 when they travel to New York to face Briarcliffe with a 1:00 pm start.
