
LYNDON CENTER, VT – Lyndon State College recorded its second victory of the season Sunday with a lopsided 86-36 non-conference victory over Fisher Sunday at Stannard Gymnasium.
With the win, Lyndon improves to 2-9 while the Falcons fall to 1-12.
Mikayla Hodge had her second-straight double-double in as many days while teammate Aimee Thompson added 14 points and five rebounds. Abby Salvadore had 11 points, six rebounds, three assists, four steals and two blocked shots; and Brittney LaFreniere added 10 points and six rebounds.
Marley Harmon came off the bench to score eight points and grab 12 rebounds.
Murphy Carroll (Methuen, MA) was the lone Falcon in double-figures with 15 points. Christine Briggs (Rumford, ME) pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and had two steals in the contest.
Fisher shot a dismal 23 percent from the field in the opening half and ran into significant foul trouble in the second half. The Hornets, behind a balanced scoring attack, led 38-20 at half-time and poured it on in the second half to walk off with the win.
Fisher returns to action when they return back to Vermont to play SUNY Canton at Vermont Tech on Tuesday, January 13 at 4:00 pm. The team then plays Vermont Tech on Wednesday, January 14 at 6:00 pm.
