Six Falcons Score In Double Figures As They Earn Their Seventh Win Of The Season

Lynn, MA- The Lady Falcons continue to roll as they won their 7th game of the season tonight against the visiting Fighting Saints (1-6) from the College of Saint Joseph (VT), 88-49. The 88 points is a season high for the Falcons and is the largest win differential of the season as they shot 43% from the floor in the victory and held the Saints to just 25% shooting. It was a strong performance all around as six different Falcons scored in double figures to secure the win.

Fisher got hot right from the tip-off as they jumped out to an early 12-0 lead, and then another 10-0 run with 2:34 remaining in the first quarter to take the lead 22-3 forcing a CSJ timeout.  The Saints responded with the next five points to bring the score to 22-8, but that would be the closest the visitors would get the remainder of the contest as the Falcons continued to pull away as the minutes rolled on.  Fisher would lead by as many as 39 in the fourth quarter to bring home the win. The Falcons outrebounded the Saints 49-27 while also forcing 24 Saints turnovers. They were also sharp behind the arc as they hit 9 of 23 three-point field goals.

The high scorer in the win was Vivian Lara (Norwalk, CA) who led all scorers with 19 points and seven rebounds.  Freshman Misha O'Neal (Tampa, FL) had a breakout performance as she had a season high 18 points and found herself under the basket open for some pretty lay-ups on multiple occasions.  Junior Kellie Gaston (Tampa, FL) played well for her squad as she tallied 15 points and grabbed a season high nine rebounds.  Freshman Shaniah Hazard (Providence, RI) earned her first double-double of her Falcons career as she contributed with 10 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.  Junior Jenny-Lynn Eggers (Sonoma, CA) was the sixth Falcons in double figures as she also had 11 points on the night.  The CSJ Saints were led by Daija Black who scored a team-high 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Falcons will have more than a week to recoup as their next game is not until next Saturday, December 8th at 3pm as they play host to Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
