Weekly Preview - Falcons Head To Thomas College For A Non-Conference Matchup

Boston, MA- The Lady Falcons are heading up to Thomas College in Waterville, ME for a non-conference matchup on Wednesday evening. The Falcons will be looking to bounce back after a tough 72-64 loss to Villa Maria last weekend. Prior to falling to the Vikings on Friday night, FC had won two in a row as they defeated Simmons 72-65, and Northern Vermont-Lyndon 63-54. The Falcons have played well defensively over that span, as they have held their opponents to 34% shooting from the floor while allowing 63 points, and have caused 52 turnovers leading to 52 Falcons points in the last three contests.

Over those last three contests, five different Falcons tallied double figures, contributing to the Falcons two wins. Choon-Hee Chae (Kyle, TX), Jenny-Lynn Eggers (Sonoma, CA), Kellie Gaston (Tampa, FL), Vivian Lara (Norwalk, CA) and Piper Mali (Oro Valley, AZ) all tallied at least one game in double digits over the last three. Lara continues to lead the way for the Falcons as she has scored 20+ points in her last four games, averaging 23.2 over that span, while collecting 22 rebounds, 10 assists, and nine steals in her last three games. She also earned A.I.I. Player of the Week honors for the second this season this week and is currently leading the A.I.I. in both points per game (18.3) and steals per game (2.8). Chae has brought her season average up as she has averaged 10.3 points in the last three contests while Eggers earned a season-high 20 points in the loss to Villa Maria and looks to continue to play strong in the paint going forward. Also, Jocelyn Mendoza grabbed a team high 12 boards in the Vikings loss, the fourth time she has earned 12+ rebounds this season.

Thomas College is 5-14 this season, while holding a 4-6 record in the NAC conference. The Terriers are currently in a three-game losing streak, with their most recent loss coming this past Saturday to Maine Maritime as they were defeated 64-39 by the Mariners. Kaylee Ravagli (Lowell, MA) leads the team with 8.4 points per game, while Molly Carroll (Southwest Harbor, ME) is just behind her averaging 8.0 ppg. Addie Brinkman (Farmington, ME) is the leader under the glass as she grabs 6.7 rebounds per game, while averaging 7.5 ppg. Thomas averages 53.6 points per game while shooting 33.2% from the floor overall, while their opponents have scored 61.0 over the season and shoot 36.3%.

The two teams square off tonight at 7pm at the Larry Mahaney Gymnasium. The game can be streamed live here.
