Merrimack Warriors Prove To Be Too Much For The Falcons

North Andover, MA- The Lady Falcons headed North of Boston to take on the NCAA Division I Merrimack Warriors on Wednesday evening in hopes of coming back with their 8th win of the season. Instead they fell in a tough matchup, losing 81-42. With the loss the Falcons fall to 7-6, while the Warriors improve to 5-3 on the year.

The Falcons got off to a slow start in the first quarter, shooting 2 for 15 from the floor while only putting five points on the scoreboard to trail 18-5 after the first 10 minutes of play. The squad turned things around in the second stanza though, shooting 44% and scoring 17 points to get back in the contest. MC would lead by as many as 22 in the second, but a Shaniah Hazard (Providence, RI) lay-up just before the break brought the score to 41-22 at the half.

Fisher did all the could to stay in the game in the final two frames, but the Warriors took control, holding the Falcons to just 20 points over the last 20 minutes.

Jenny-Lynn Eggers (Sonoma, CA) led all players with an 18-point performance, her season high, while adding three rebounds and a pair of steals. Senior Vivian Lara (Norwalk, CA) was a field goal shy of a double-double as she notched eight points and 14 boards while Hazard also finished with eight points in the losing effort. Alyssa Casey tallied a double-double for Merrimack as she earned 15 points and 12 caroms in the victory. Jayme Decesare was the only other Warrior to score in double figures with 11.

The Lady Falcons will have a 10-day break with their next contest coming on their home court on Saturday December 14th, playing host to the Vermont Tech Knights at 2pm.
