Women's Basketball: O'Neal's first career double-double lifts Falcons to victory

MIDDLETOWN, CONN. – Sophomore Misha O'Neal (Tampa, Fla.) recorded her first career double-double as the Fisher College Women's Basketball team held on for a tough 44-41 victory this evening over Wellesley College in non-conference action. The win lifts the Falcons to an overall record of 16-12 while the Blue, whose seven-game home winning streak was snapped, fall to 13-6 on the year.

O'Neal finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds on the night and senior Jenny-Lynn Eggers (Sonoma, Calif.) continues her strong play with her 4th double-double of the season, finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Senior Vivian Lara (Norwlak, Calif.) added five points and six rebounds off the bench for Fisher while classmate Angel Bernardi (Cloverdale, Calif.) added four points and five boards in the win.

Wellesley was guided by the efforts of freshman Jiyun Chae (Chantilly, Va.), who ended her evening with 11 points and six rebounds. Junior Alyssa Cho (Hillsboro, Calif.) added nine point and seven rebounds for the Blue with freshman Pujita Shukla (Austin, Texas) contributing nine points of her own in a reserve effort on the night.

Fisher will close out the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a road trip to New London, N.H. for a 1pm contest at Colby-Sawyer College. Wellesley will also be back in action on Saturday at 1pm as they host Emerson College in conference battle.
