Women's Basketball: Falcons stumble late in A.I.I. Quarterfinals to WAU

Lincoln, Ill. – The Fisher College Women's Basketball team stumbled down the stretch as they ultimately fell in the 2020 Association of Independent Institutions Basketball Championship Tournament this afternoon, 57-48 to Washington Adventist University in a quarterfinal matchup. The 2020 Tournament was hosted by Lincoln College and the loss closes the book on the 2019-2020 season for the Falcons in which they finish at 16-14 overall.

Fisher was led by senior Jenny-Lynn Eggers (Sonoma, Calif.), who shot 6-for-11 from the field for 16 points. Matching Eggers for the game-high with 16 points was sophomore Misha O'Neal (Tampa, Fla.) as she knocked down three three-point attempts on her own 6-for-14 shooting from the floor. Senior Vivian Lara (Norwalk, Calif.) collected six points and five rebounds in her final contest and classmate Angel Bernardi (Cloverdale, Calif.) wrapped up her career with five points and one point. Shaniah Hazard (Providence, R.I.) added seven points and a team-high seven rebounds off the bench for Fisher.

Washington Adventist University saw Jay Cain come off the bench and lead the team with 14 points while Amber Morman pulled down a game-high 19 rebounds in the win. Also reaching double-figures in points scored were Nyelle Allen and Diamond Rankine, who had 13 and 10 points respectively. Allen also pulled down eight rebounds on the afternoon for the Shock.
