Women's Basketball: Falcons fall in A.I.I. Semifinals

PARAGOULD, ARK. – The Fisher College Women's Basketball team fell this afternoon in the 2021 Association of Independent Institutions Basketball Championship Tournament to top-seeded College of the Ozarks, 71-38. The loss drops the Falcons below .500 on the season at 2-3 while the Bobcats, who were receiving votes in the NAIA Top-25 coaches' poll, move to 7-1 and will play for the conference championship tomorrow afternoon.

The Falcons were led by junior Misha O'Neal (Tampa, Fla.), who finished the game with 14 points on 6-of-16 shooting from the floor. Classmate Shaniah Hazard (Providence, R.I.) chipped in with nine points and 10 rebounds while senior Jennifer Rosales (Morgan Hill, Calif.) finished her afternoon with seven points and three rebounds. Junior Alexia Mason (Los Angeles, Calif.) also shined bright in the loss as she totaled eight points and eight rebounds.

The Lady Bobcats were guided by the steady play of 6-foot junior Annie Noah (Theodosia, Mo.), who compiled the game-high of 18 points while pulling down nine rebounds. Senior Grace Steiger (Cuba, Mo.) and sophomore Kayley Frank (Marshfield, Mo.) also finished with double-figures as they scored 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The Falcons will return back to New England and prepare to play out the remainder of the 2021 pandemic altered season. The next scheduled contest is on Friday evening at Eastern Nazarene College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5pm.
