Women's Basketball: Fisher tripped up at Albertus Magnus

NEW HAVEN, CONN. – The Fisher College Women's Basketball team fell this evening on the road against Albertus Magnus College, 68-52 in non-conference action. The Falcons fall to 4-6 on the season with the loss while Albertus Magnus improves to 1-3.

It was a close contest throughout as the two teams were separated by just six points entering the final 10 minutes of action.

Junior Shaniah Hazard (Providence, R.I.) registered a double-double to pace the Falcons as she collected 19 rebounds while shooting 7-for-19 from the floor and finishing with 16 points. Classmate Misha O'Neal (Tampa, Fla.) led the team with 19 points and fellow junior Alexia Mason (Inglewood, Calif.) pulled down 11 rebounds and added eight points in the loss for Fisher.

Albertus Magnus saw sophomore Kyah Nowlin (Stamford, Conn.) come off the bench and record the game-high of 20 points to pace the offensive attack. Freshman Natasha Rivera (Ansonia, Conn.) netted a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds while classmate Caitlyn Scott (White Plains, N.Y.) finished with 11 points of her own.

Fisher will be back on the road again this week as they get set for a two-game set at Wheaton College. Game one is on Wednesday night with an 8pm tip-off followed by a 7pm tip on Thursday night. Albertus will get ready for a home-and-home series with the University of Saint Joseph on Tuesday and Thursday this week. They will be at USJ on Tuesday with a 7pm game time.
