Women's Basketball: O'Neal, Falcons fall at Rivier, 77-70

NASHUA, N.H. – The Fisher College Women's Basketball battled to the end this evening as they came up short in a 77-70 loss to Rivier University inside the Muldoon Gymnasium. The loss sends the Falcons to a 1-2 overall record while the Raiders picked up their first win of the season and are now 1-0.

Senior Misha O'Neal (Tampa, Fla.) recorded her first double-double of the season as the veteran guard scored the game-high of 27 points while collecting 12 rebounds. Classmate Alexia Mason (Inglewood, Calif.) fell one rebound shy of her own double-double as she contributed 16 points and nine rebounds while sophomore Madison Kelley (Moosup, Conn.) added 14 points and eight rebounds in the loss.

The Raiders were paced by sophomore Lyric Grumblatt (Manchester, N.H.) and freshman Alex Dufries (Leicester, Mass.), who scored 20 and 18 points, respectively. Junior Heather Reis (Mont Vernon, N.H.) matched O'Neal for the game-high of 12 rebounds and senior Cydney Lessard (Auburn, N.H.) chipped in with 11 points in the win. Sophomore Sophie Abdallah (Watertown, Mass.) helped secure the win for the Raiders as she collected two rebounds in her 10 minutes of action on the night.

Next up for the Falcons will be a date with another NCAA Division III Great Northeast Athletic Conference member in Dean College. Tipoff is scheduled for 1pm inside the Pappas Gymnasium at Hellenic College in Brookline on Saturday afternoon. The Raiders will also return to action on Saturday as the travel to Wellesley College for a 1pm contest.
