Women's Basketball: Falcons stumble at Villa Maria, 72-49

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Fisher College Women's Basketball team returned to action this afternoon from the thanksgiving break with a 72-49 loss at Villa Maria College. The loss moves the Falcons to 3-5 overall on the season while the Vikings up their record to 7-4.

Senior Alexia Mason (Inglewood, Calif.) led the way offensively for the Falcons as she ended her afternoon with a team-high 14 points and six rebounds. Junior Tatiana Bruno (Ridgefield Park, N.J.) added 13 points and senior Misha O'Neal (Tampa, Fla.) contributed nine points while shooting 4-for-8 from the floor and collecting five rebounds. Freshman Ariana Ramos-Cardona (Isabella, Puerto Rico) recorded the team-high seven rebounds and scored five points off the bench in the loss.

Villa Maria saw four student-athletes reach double-figures in scoring, led by junior Maria Falgana's (Naples, Italy) 17-point effort. Freshman Cortinea Smith (Buffalo, N.Y.) finished with 15 points while senior Chmicka Kennedy (Youngstown, Ohio) and junior Danyea Barclay (Buffalo, N.Y.) ended their games with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Kennedy also recorded the game-high of nine rebounds in the win.

Fisher will remain in Buffalo for their next contest tomorrow afternoon against Bryant & Stratton College-Buffalo. Game time is slated for 12pm. Villa Maria, meanwhile, will travel to Finger Lakes Community College on Wednesday evening for their next game.
