Women's Basketball: Mason's double-double leads Falcons past WAU

BROOKLINE, MASS. – The Fisher College Women's Basketball picked up a big Continental Athletic Conference victory this evening as the defeated visiting Washington Adventist University, 66-54 inside the Pappas Gymnasium. The Falcons climb to 5-10 on the season while the Shock fall to 9-7. Fisher used a 21-point fourth quarter to seal the game after a tight back-and-forth battle all night.

Senior Alexia Mason (Inglewood, Calif.) registered a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 15 rebounds while shooting 5-for-11 from the floor. Classmate Shaniah Hazard (Providence, R.I.) came off the bench and added 10 points as fellow senior Misha O'Neal (Tampa, Fla.) led the team with 15 points scored. Junior Tatiana Bruno (Ridgefield Park, N.J.) finished with 14 points and junior Madison Kelley (Moosup, Conn.) chipped in with six points and seven rebounds in the conference victory.

Washington Adventist was guided by sophomore Nyelle Allen (Columbia, Md.), who led all scorers with 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the court. Junior Jahnaya Peterson (Suitland, Md.) netted nine points and nine rebounds for the Shock with classmate Brianna Jones (Largo, Md.) providing additional support with eight points.

After back-to-back wins, the Falcons will look to make it three in a row on Tuesday evening as they travel to the University of Maine-Presque Isle. Game time is set for 5pm. Washington Adventist will be back in action on Monday night as they host Trinity Washington University.
