Women's Basketball: Falcons fall at home to UMPI

BROOKLINE, MASS. - The Fisher College Women's Basketball team dropped the contest this afternoon to the University of Maine-Presque Isle, 84-46 at Pappas Gymnasium. The loss sends the Falcons season to 1-10 for an overall record. UMPI rises to 4-3.

Senior Naomi Mares (Pueblo, Colo.) led the offensive effort for the Falcons as she totaled 24 points while adding 7 rebounds in her 36 minutes of play. Junior Ladaeja Robinson (Boston, Mass.) followed with 11 points and 5 steals while sophomore Nayleemar Montalvo (Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico) added 5 points. Senior Madison Kelley (Moosup, CT)led the team in rebounds with 11 and added 4 points in the loss for the Falcons.

UMPI was paced by junior Alexis Ireland (Howeland, Maine) with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 steals while senior Emily Wheaton (Presque Isle, Maine) added 14 points and had 5 steals. Junior Aleia Milano (Lake County, Calif.) chipped in with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Sophomore Kourtney West (Fort Fairfield, Maine) added 10 points and 3 steals in the win for the Owls.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court later this week. Fisher will be traveling to Merrimack College on Saturday with a 3pm start. UMPI will be traveling to San Juan, Puerto Rico to play William Smith College on Monday the 19th with a 10am tip-off.
