Women's Basketball: Falcons come up short at NVU-Lyndon

LYNDON, VT. - The Fisher College Women's Basketball team dropped the contest this evening to Northern Vermont University-Lyndon, 55-29 at Stannard Gymnasium. The loss sends the Falcons season to 1-9 for an overall record. Northern Vermont rises to 3-5.

Senior Madison Kelley (Moosup, Conn.) led the Falcons in an all around effort of 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 blocks in her 39 minutes of play. Grad student Naomi Mares (Pueblo, Colo.) followed with 11 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals while junior J Braggs (Craig, Colo.) added 2 points in the loss for the Falcons.

Northern Vermont was paced by sophomore Christina McKivergan (Essex, Vt.) with 13 points while classmate Riann Fortin (Derby, Vt.) added 8 points. Freshman Gabriella Cordova (EL Paso, Texas) chipped in with 7 points. Senior Saleena Porter (Saint Johnsbury, Vt.) led the team in rebounds with 11 in the win for the Hornets.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court tomorrow. Fisher will be hosting the University of Maine-Presque Isle at Hellenic College with a noon time tip-off. Northern Vermont-Lyndon will be hosting Lesley University also at noon.
