Women's Basketball: Falcons suffer loss at BSC-Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Fisher College Women's Basketball team dropped the contest this evening to Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse, 88-19 at Tipperary Hill Community Center. The loss sends the Falcons season to 1-7 for an overall record.Bryant & Stratton rises to 5-0.

Nayleemar Montalvo (Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico) led the offensive effort for the Falcons as she totaled 8 points in her 40 minutes of play. Senior Madison Kelley (Moosup, Conn.) followed with an all around effort of 6 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Junior Ladeja Robinson (Boston, Mass.) added 2 points, 6 steals, and 7 rebounds while classmate Jada Braggs (Craig, Colo.) chipped in with 2 points, 4 steals, and 6 rebounds in the loss for the Falcons.

Bryant & Stratton was paced by senior Jehiah Cook (Vallejo, Calif.) with 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 9 steals while sophomore Eunice Sillong (Nakuru, Kenya) added 18 points and 13 rebounds. Senior Suliat Afolabi (Brooklyn, N.Y.) pitched in with 17 points while sophomore Valena Hickerson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) added 10 points for the Bobcats.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court this week. Fisher will be traveling to Buffalo, New York to face the Bobcats of Bryant & Stratton-Buffalo with a 12pm start. Bryant & Stratton-Syracuse will travel to Cazenovia College on Tuesday with a 5:30pm tip-off.
