Women's Basketball: Fisher drops the battle of the Falcons

NEW HAVEN, CONN. - The Fisher College Women's Basketball team dropped the contest this evening to Albertus Magnus College, 74-36. The loss sends the Falcons season to 1-6 for an overall record. Albertus Magnus College rises to 4-0.

Senior Naomi Mares (Pueblo, Colo.) led the offensive effort for the Falcons as she totaled 13 points in her 34 minutes of play. Senior Madison Kelley (Moosup, Conn.) and junior Ladeja Robinson (Boston, Mass.) each added 9 points. Kelley also led the team in rebounds, having 15 while sophomore Nayleemar Montalvo (Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico) added 3 points and 6 rebounds. Junior Jada Braggs (Craig, Colo.) chipped in with 2 points loss for the Falcons.

Albertus Magnus was paced by Caitlyn Scott (White Plains, N.Y.) with 16 points and sophomore Jakara Murray-Leach (Norwalk, Conn.) added 13 points in her 19 minutes of play. Junior Natasha Rivera (Anosnia, Conn.) pitched in with 11 points and 11 rebounds while sophomore Robin Selitte (Bridgeport, Conn.) gave the Falcons 6 points and 10 rebounds in the win.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court on Saturday . Fisher will be traveling to Syracuse, New York to play Bryant and Stratton-Syracuse with a 4pm tip-off. Albertus Magnus will be hosting Emmanuel with a 1pm start.
