Women's Basketball: Falcons fall to Wellesley

WELLESLEY, MASS. - The Fisher College Women's Basketball team dropped the contest this evening to Wellesley, 38-21 in Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse. The loss sends the Falcons season to 1-5 for an overall record. Wellesley College rises to 4-3.

Senior Madison Kelley (Moosup, Conn.) led the offensive effort for the Falcons as she totaled 9 points in her 40 minutes of play. Senior Naomi Mares (Pueblo, Colo.) and junior Ladeja Robinson (Boston, Mass.) each added 4 points. Junior Jada Braggs (Craig, Colo.) and senior Macy Barnes (Duarte, Calif.) chipped in with 2 points. Barnes also led the team in rebounds with 9 in the loss for the Falcons.

Wellesley was paced by freshman Arla Hofer (Las Vegas, Nev.) with 12 points and 5 rebounds and classmate Shannon Li (Los Altos, Calif.) provided help with 11 points. Junior Jiyun Chae (Chantilly, Va.) added 6 points, 4 steals and 5 rebounds. Senior Pujita Shukla (Austin, Texas) led the team in rebounds with 8 in the win.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court after the Thanksgiving break. Fisher will be traveling to New Haven, Conn. to face Albertus Magnus on Tuesday with a 7pm tip-off. Wellesley will be playing on Monday going to Worcester State University at 7pm.
