Women's Basketball: Kelley, Falcons close out UMF Classic

FARMINGTON, MAINE - The Fisher College Women's Basketball team dropped the contest this evening to the University of Maine-Presque Isle, 66-39 in Dearborn Gymnasium. The win sends the Falcons season to 1-4 for an overall record. The University of Maine-Presque Isle rises to 2-2.

Senior Madison Kelley (Moosup, Conn.) led the offensive effort for the Falcons as she totaled 17 points and 12 rebounds in her 40 minutes of play. Senior Naomi Mares (Pueblo, Colo.), junior Ladeja Robinson (Boston, Mass.), and junior Jada Braggs (Craig, Colo.) each added 8 points a piece. Sophomore Nayleemar Montalvo (Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico) chipped in with 4 points and 10 rebounds in the loss for the Falcons.

UMPI was paced by senior Emily Wheaton with 28 points and 7 rebounds and junior Aleia Milano (Lake County, Calif.) provided help with 15 points. Freshman Denelle Eldridge (Waterville, Maine) added 5 points and 8 rebounds. Junior Chantel Williams (Oroville, Calif.) led the team in rebounds alongside Eldridge with 8 in the win for the Owls.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court on Tuesday. Fisher will be traveling to Wellesley Mass. to play Wellesley College with a 7pm tip-off. UMPI will be traveling to the University of Maine-Augusta to play at 5:30pm.
