Women's Basketball: Kelley's double-double lifts Falcons to victory

LYNDON, VT. - The Fisher College Women's Basketball team won the contest this afternoon over Vermont Tech, 40-44. The win sends the Falcons season to 1-2 for an overall record. Vermont Tech falls to 0-2.

Senior Madison Kelley (Moosup, CT) led the offensive effort for the Falcons as she totaled 15 points in her 40 minutes of play. Kelley also led the team in rebounds grabbing 13. Senior Naomi Mares (Pueblo, Colo.) followed with 14 points and junior Ladaeja Robinson (Boston, Mass.) added 9 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore Nayleemar Montalvo (Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico) chipped in with 6 points and Jada Braggs (Craig, Colo.) added 5 points in the win for the Falcons.

Vermont Tech was paced by Ella Buckingham with 17 points and Becky Johnson provided help with 8 points. Coreeahn Yharborough and Tay Finnikin chipped in with 6 points and 9 rebounds a piece in the loss for the Knights.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court this week. Fisher will be headed to Farmington, Maine to play UMaine-Farmington in their tip-off tournament on Friday with a 7pm start. Vermont Tech will be headed to Amherst, Mass. to play Hampshire College on Wednesday.
