Women's Basketball: Robinson, Falcons fall at NVU Tournament

LYNDON, VT. - The Fisher College Women's Basketball team dropped a contest this evening to Northern Vermont University-Johnson, 73-77. The loss brings the Falcons season to 0-2 for an overall record. NVU-Johnson rises to 1-1.

Junior Ladaeja Robinson (Boston, Mass.) led the offensive effort for the Falcons as she totaled 15 points in her 40 minutes of play. Senior Naomi Mares (Pueblo, Colo.) and sophomore Nayleemar Montalvo (Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico) each added 12 points in the loss. Jada Braggs (Craig, Colo.) added 10 points and 10 rebounds for Fisher while senior Madison Kelley (Moosup, Conn.) chipped in with 8 points in the loss.

NVU-Johnson was paced by junior Gabriella Wardwell (Springfield, Vt.) with 28 points and sophomore Paris Atuahene (Phoenix, Ariz.) provided help with 26 points. Wardwell also led the team in rebounds having 12 defensive and 11 offensive. Grad student Emma Buonanno (Wolcott, Vt.) also chipped in with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the win for the Badgers.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court tomorrow as the tip-off tournament comes to an end. Fisher will be playing Vermont Tech at NVU-Lyndon with a 12pm start. NVU-Johnson will play NVU-Lyndon at their home court with a 2pm tip-off.
