Women's Basketball: Falcons drop CAC contest to Fla. National

BROOKLINE, MASS. - The Fisher College Women's Basketball team dropped a Continental Athletic Conference contest this afternoon to the visiting Florida National University, 66-45 inside Pappas Gymnasium. The loss sends the Falcons to 1-13 for an overall record. Florida National slides to 7-7.

Senior Madison Kelley (Moosup, Conn.) led the offensive effort for the Falcons as she totaled 21 points over her 40 minutes of play. Senior Naomi Mares (Pueblo, Colo.) followed with 16 points. Kelley also led the team in rebounds having 13. Junior J Braggs (Craig, Colo.) also chipped in with 4 points and 3 steals while sophomore Nayleemar Montalvo (Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico) added 11 rebounds in the loss for Fisher.

Florida National was paced by sophomore Natalie Larranaga (Guatemala City, Guatemala) with 24 points and junior Janalisse Marty (San Juan, Puerto Rico) provided help with 12 points and pulled down 7 rebounds. Marty also dished out 6 assists. Freshman Catalina Valenzuela (Santiago, Chile) also chipped in with 6 points and 5 steals in the win for the Conquistadors.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court tomorrow. Fisher will host Haskell Indian Nation with a 1pm tip-off. Florida National University will also be playing in Brookline, Mass tomorrow against Washington Adventist University with a 6pm start.
