Women's Basketball: Falcons upset at home by Mitchell

BROOKLINE, MASS. - The Fisher College Women's Basketball team dropped the contest this afternoon to Mitchell College, 67-51. The loss sends the Falcons to 1-19 for an overall record. Mitchell rises to 13-9.

Seniors Madison Kelley (Moosup, CT) led the offensive effort for the Falcons as she totaled 25 points over her 40 minutes of play while adding 9 rebounds, 3 steals, and a block. Senior Naomi Mares (Pueblo, Colo.) followed with 15 points, 4 assists and 5 rebounds while sophomore Nayleemar Montalvo (Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico) added 10 rebounds. Junior Angela Steingrimsdottir (Grindavick, Iceland) added 8 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals in the loss for Fisher.

Mitchell was paced by freshman reserve Jamya Beddoe (New London, CT) having 14 points in her 21 minutes while sophomore Amina Wiley (New Rochelle, NY) provided help with 12 points, 2 steals, and 9 rebounds. Senior Jermina Dumas (Stratford, CT) added 11 points and 8 rebounds and classmate Dede Stevenson (Hartford, CT) added 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in the win for the Mariners.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court this Saturday. Fisher will host their Senior Day against the visiting Bryant & Stratton of Syracuse with a 1pm start. Mitchell will be traveling to Lesley University with a 1:30 tip-off.
