Women's Basketball: Falcons edged at home on Senior Day

BROOKLINE, MASS. - The Fisher College Women's Basketball team dropped the contest this afternoon to Bryant & Stratton College-Syracuse, 71-65. The loss sends the Falcons to 1-20 for an overall record. Bryant & Stratton rises to 11-3.

Senior Naomi Mares (Pueblo, Colo.) led the offensive effort for the Falcons as she totaled 20 points over her 40 minutes of play while adding 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Junior Angela Steingrimsdottir (Grindavick, Iceland) followed with 14 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Senior Madison Kelley (Moosup, CT) had an all around effort of 16 points, 12 rebounds, 4 steals, and 5 blocks. Sophomore Nayleemar Montalvo (Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico) chipped in with 10 points and Jada Braggs (Craig, Colo.) with 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the loss for Fisher.

Bryant & Stratton was paced by sophomore Eunice Sillong (Nakuru, Kenya) having 18 points and 20 rebounds in her 31 minutes while senior Suliat Afolabi (Brooklyn, NY) provided help with 15 points and 4 assists. Sophomore Jaisy Soto (Bronx, NY) contributed 13 points and 4 steals and sophomore reserve Deounce Reed-Fuller (Rochester, NY) added 10 points and 9 rebounds in the win for the Bobcats.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court this week. Fisher will travel to Merrimack College on Monday with a 7pm tip-off. Bryant & Stratton will play Berkeley tomorrow at noon.
