Women's Basketball: Falcons stumble at UMF Classic

FARMINGTON, MAINE – The Fisher College Women's Basketball team closed out their annual trip to the UMF Classic this afternoon with a 65-43 loss to the hosts, University of Maine-Farmington. The setback sends the Falcons to 0-7 on the year while the Beavers improve to 2-4.

Senior Ladaeja Robinson (Boston, Mass.) turned in her best performance of the season as she recorded 21 points to go along with collecting eight rebounds. Junior Ariana Ramos Cardona (Isabella, Puerto Rico) added eight points and 12 rebounds while classmate Olivia Hamel (Estes Park, Colo.) totaled the game-high of 17 rebounds.

Maine-Farmington saw four of their five starters reach double-figures in scoring, led by two 12-point efforts from sophomore Ruby McMinis (Wells, Maine) and freshman Jessica Dow (Saco, Maine). Senior Jaycie Stevens (Pittston, Maine) finished with 11 points and junior Sarah Poli (Benton, Maine) chipped in with 10 points.

Both programs will return to action on Tuesday evening as they get a contest in before the holiday break. Fisher will host Wellesley College at 7pm inside the Pappas Gymnasium while the Beavers will travel to Saint Joseph's College for a 5:30pm tipoff.
