Women's Basketball: Falcons clipped by VSU-Lyndon

JOHNSON, VT. – The Fisher College Women's Basketball competed in the annual Vermont State Invitational Tournament this afternoon as they fell to VSU-Lyndon, 55-22 in the tournament's opening contest. The setback sends the Falcons to 0-4 on the young season while the Hornets win lifts them to a 2-0 overall record.

Senior Ladaeja Robinson (Boston, Mass.) recorded 10 points and collected seven rebounds to lead the way for Fisher. Junior Olivia Hamel (Estes Park, Colo.) pulled down 12 rebounds and added seven points while classmate Nayleemar Montalvo (Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico) chipped in with three points and nine rebounds.

VSU-Lydon saw junior Sage Smith (Colebrook, N.H.) finished with a game-high 23 points in leading the team to victory. Graduate Student Saleena Porter (Saint Johnsbury, Vt.) added seven points and matched Hamel with 12 rebounds while sophomore Kiara Mack (Winooski, Vt.) collected seven rebounds in the win.

Fisher will take on VSU-Randolph in the tournament's consolation game tomorrow at 12pm. VSU-Lyndon while battled VSU-Johnson for the tournament crown following the consolation match.
