Women's Basketball: Falcons downed by Rivier

NASHUA, N.H. – The Fisher College Women's Basketball team fell this evening to a talented Rivier University squad, 74-14. The loss moves the Falcons overall record to 0-3 to start the season while the Raiders are now 1-0 after their season opening victory on the new floor inside the Muldoon Gymnasium.

Junior Olivia Hamel (Estes Park, Colo.) led the way for Fisher as she collected 13 rebounds and scored six points. Senior Ladaeja Robinson (Boston, Mass.) added seven points and six rebounds off the bench while freshman Isabelle Jean (Weymouth, Mass.) chipped in with two points.

The Raiders were guided by senior Lyric Grumblatt (Manchester, N.H.), who finished with 16 points. Fellow senior Anna Stenger (Weare, N.H.) added 15 points in the win as junior Alexa Dufries (Leicester, Mass.) contributed with 12 points. Junior Rachel Guinn (Clinton, Mass.) provided additional help off the bench with her 10-point effort on the night.

Both teams will be in tournament action when they return to the court this weekend. The Falcons will make their annual pilgrimage to Johnson, Vermont for the Vermont State Tip-Off Tournament. They will take on VSU-Lyndon on Friday evening. Rivier, meanwhile, will travel to the Wheaton Tip-Off Tournament in Norton, Mass. as they battle Western New England University on Friday night.
