Women's Basketball: Falcons fall at Wilberforce

WILBERFORCE, OHIO – The Fisher College Women's Basketball team concluded their season opening trip against fellow National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) opponents this afternoon with a Continental Athletic Conference contest at Wilberforce Universty. The Falcons were defeated by the Bulldogs, 63-35 and are now 0-2 on the season. Wilberforce moves to 1-4.

Junior Ariana Ramos Cardona (Isabella, Puerto Rico) led the way for the Falcons in the contest as she totaled 10 points and collected eight rebounds across her 40 minutes of action. Classmate Olivia Hamel (Estes Park, Colo.) added seven points and six rebounds with fellow junior Nayleemar Montalvo (Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico) chipping in with six points.

Wilberforce sophomore Madison Green (Dallas, Texas) came off the bench to lead all scorers with 21 points and corralled 10 rebounds for a double-double performance. Sophomore Jada Hairston (Cleveland, Ohio) scooped up 14 rebounds and added six points on the afternoon with classmate Naiya Darden (Southfield, Mich.) also contributing with six points.

Fisher will return to New England as they get set to take on Rivier University on Wednesday evening in Nashua, N.H. The Bulldogs will travel to Tennessee State for their next contest on Monday.
