Women's Basketball: Hamel, Falcons suffer defeat at PSU-Schuylkill

SCHUYLKILL, PA. – The Fisher College Women's Basketball team dropped the opening contest of their short two-game set in Pennsylvania this evening as they fell to Continental Athletic Conference foe Penn State – Schuylkill, 63-49. The loss sends the Falcons to a 1-15 overall record while the Nittany Lions improve to 5-9 on the season.

Freshman Olivia Hamel (Estes Park, Colo.) came off the bench to led the Falcons in scoring as she finished with 12 points. The 6-foot forward was 5-for-10 from the field while also collecting the game-high of nine rebounds. Senior Ladaeja Robinson (Boston, Mass.) and junior Ariana Ramos Cardona (Isabella, Puerto Rico) added 11 points each and freshman Aziriah Wilson (Uniontown, Pa.) chipped in with seven points in the loss.

Penn State was led by junior Allison Crockett (Liverpool, Pa.), who totaled the game-high of 20 points. Freshman Ava Novak (New Media, Pa.) and sophomore Serena Jones (Tamaqua, Pa.) provided additional help with 13 and 12 points scored, respectively. Jones scooped up six rebounds for the team-high and collected two steals in the victory.

Both teams will return to the court tomorrow night as they finish the two-game set. Game time is scheduled for 6pm.
