Women's Basketball: Falcons stumble at home to Lasell

BROOKLINE, MASS. – The Fisher College Women's Basketball opened up the home portion of the second semester schedule this evening with a 69-43 loss to visiting Lasell University. The Falcons are now 1-17 overall on the season while the Lasers improve to 9-6 on the year.

Freshman Olivia Hamel (Estes Park, Colo.) once again recorded a double-double as she led the team with 11 points and 13 rebounds. The 6-0 forward was 5-for-7 from the floor while also dishing out two assists. Junior Nayleemar Montalvo (Mayaguez, Puerto Rico) and freshman Aziriah Wilson (Uniontown, Pa.) each added seven points off the bench for the Falcons. Montalvo also collected eight rebounds to help on the defensive side of the ball.

Lasell saw sophomores Shirle Major (Worcester, Mass.) and Kiara Cerruti (Canton, Mass.) net the game-high 18 points to pace the offensive effort. Fellow sophomore Laura Johnson (Groton, Conn.) scooped the game-high of 15 rebounds to go along with her eight points on the night. Graduate student Brooke Damboise (Bolton, Conn.) and freshman Haley Johnson (Thompson, Conn.) dished out three assists and freshman GraceLynn Phung (Hanoi, Vietnam) added two points in the win.

Fisher will return to action on Saturday afternoon as they host Bryant & Stratton College – Syracuse at 1pm inside the Pappas Gymnasium. Lasell will host Anna Maria College in a conference affair set for 2pm on Saturday afternoon.
