TEMPLE TERRACE, FLA. - The Fisher College Women's Basketball team struggled in a tough matchup against Spartanburg Methodist University, suffering a 105-33 loss. With the defeat, Fisher's record drops to 0-6, while Spartanburg Methodist improves to 5-11.
Senior Olivia Hamel (Estes Park, Colo.) led the Falcons in both scoring and rebounding, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Ariana Ramos Cardona (Isabela, Puerto Rico) contributed 7 points and 5 rebounds, while Senior Kamani Paynter (Atlanta, Ga.) added 8 points to the effort.
For Spartanburg Methodist, Sophomore JaiDah Liebert (Columbia, S.C.) dominated the game, pouring in 31 points. On the boards, Sophomore Latavius Wilson (Manning, S.C.) and Senior Emiya Gallman (Columbia, S.C.) each pulled down 10 rebounds. Junior Destiny Middleton (Anderson, S.C.) also had an impressive performance with 20 points in the win for Spartanburg.
Fisher will return to action on Saturday, January 11, when they face Florida National University in Tampa, Fla. at 11 a.m. Spartanburg Methodist will next host Life University on Wednesday, January 22, at 5 p.m..
