BROOKLINE, MASS. – The Fisher College Women's Basketball team struggled against Vermont State University Lyndon, falling 52-30. With the loss, Fisher's record drops to 0-8, while Vermont State improves to 4-10.
Senior Ariana Ramos Cardona (Isabela, Puerto Rico) led the Falcons with 15 points, and Senior Olivia Hamel (Estes Park, Colo.) dominated the boards, pulling down a game high of 16 rebounds. Senior Mayouri Yath (Amherst, Mass.) chipped in 8 points, and Senior J. Braggs (Craig, Colo.) grabbed 10 rebounds to contribute to Fisher's effort.
For Vermont State, Senior Sage Smith (Colebrook, NH) was the top scorer with 19 points. Sophomore Ella Huntington (Taylorsville, UT) led the team on the boards with 11 rebounds, while Junior Kiara Mack (Milton, VT) contributed 9 rebounds and 6 points in the win for the Hornets.
Fisher will look to bounce back when they travel to Washington Adventist University in Takoma Park on Saturday, January 18, at 7:15 p.m. while the Hornets will next face the University of Maine at Presque Isle on January 19 at 12 p.m..
