BOSTON, MASS. – The Fisher Falcons Women's Soccer team is excited to return to the field this fall for its first fully competitive season since 2019. The team has a challenging schedule ahead of it this fall after spending the summer offseason getting in shape for what lies ahead.
The team is welcoming a program record 10 newcomers for 2021 to join six returning players.

The Falcons will be led on the field by senior captain, Carla DaSilva (Somerville, Mass.) who enters her third full season and second as captain having made 33 appearances between 2018 and 2019. Joining her in the center midfield will Wilnette Memeus (Everett, Mass.), a graduate student who has previously made 41 appearances for the Falcons, scoring 19 goals and providing 28 assists. A pair of freshman, Angel Hoye from California and Kelly Wallace from Hanover, Massachusetts, both gifted attacking talents, will also see a lot of time in central midfield this year.

In the wide attacking positions, junior Kassie Lima (Boston, Mass.) returns for her second full season with the Falcons having played 18 games as a freshman back in 2019. Stephanie Faiella (East Boston, Mass.) is a sophomore transfer into the program for 2021 after a decorated high school career as a soccer and track standout at East Boston High School. She'll be joined in the wide attacking positions by sophomore Oumaima Bahjy (Revere, Mass.), who is looking forward to her first competitive college season after a strong playing career at Revere High School. Finally, freshman Juliette Dominquez (Hesperia, Calif.), who among the trio of new players from California, will round out the talented group playing in the wide attacking positions.

Leading the team from the front in the center forward position will be senior Josie Mejia (Malden, Mass.). She will be playing in her third full season after combing to play in 34 games in 2018 and 2019. Freshman Zanya Johnson (Boston, Mass.) will also be expected to compete for playing time in the center forward position this fall as she joins the Falcons from Snowden International High School in Boston.

The back line will be led by the experienced junior centerback Sarah Graefe (Windermere, Fla.), who is returning for her second full season after 14 appearances in 2019. Graefe will be guiding and playing alongside freshman Cheyenne McCall (Boston, Mass.), who joins Fisher from local high school Boston Prep. The back line will also see incoming freshman Jenna McCullough (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) join the program from Adlai Stevenson High School in Illinois.

Rounding out the back line will be junior transfer Aida Pedemonte (San Francisco, Calif.), who is coming to Boston to join the Falcons from City College of San Francisco. Pedemonte has recently received a call up to join the Guam Women's National team for Asian Cup qualifiers this September.

The defense of the Falcons goal will be entrusted to two pairs of capable hands this fall with the arrival of two freshman who will both be expected to see plenty of game time right away this season. Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa.) comes to Fisher from Pennsylvania and will be joined by Ameilia Schaefer (Cherry Hill, N.J.) from New Jersey.

The coaching staff, led by head coach Thomas Pinzone (2nd Season), is excited to have such a talented group to guide into the upcoming season. Joining Coach Pinzone on the coaching staff are assistant coaches Natalie Benjamin (2nd Season), Ryan Gonzalez (2nd Season) and Alyssa Smith (1st Season).

The Falcons open the 2021 fall season on Wednesday, September 1st when they play host to Husson University before spending Labor Day weekend on the road with two away games in Vermont.
