LYNDONVILLE, VT – The Fisher College Women's Soccer team picked up their first win of the season this afternoon as they defeated Northern Vermont University-Lyndon, 3-2. The win evens out the Falcons overall record (1-1) while the Hornets fall to 0-1.

Fisher jumped out to a quick 1-nil advantage as freshman Kelly Wallace (Hanover, Mass.) collected a perfectly fed through ball from classmate Angel Hoye (Apple Valley, Calif.) and capitalized on the 1v1 situation in the 12th minute. It was Wallace's second goal of the season. The Hornets tied it up minutes later off the foot of Felicity Flores as the game remained tied at 1-1 heading into the halftime break.

An even back-and-forth pace of play ensued to begin the final 45 minutes of regulation. In the 73rd minute, freshman Juliette Dominguez (Hesperia, Calif.) gave Fisher a lead as she netted her second goal of the season with an assist credited to Wallace. However, NVU-Lyndon battled back less than two minutes later when Riann Fortin scored her first goal of the season to make it 2-2. Dominiguez responded just one minute later with her second goal of the game (third of the season) with Wallace and junior Kassie Lima (Boston, Mass.) getting the assists to lift the Falcons to a win.

Freshman Ameilia Schaefer (Cherry Hill, N.J.) made five saves on the afternoon for her first career collegiate win between the pipes while her counterpart, Karly Cordwell stopped 10 of 13 shots she faced. The Falcons held the advantage in shots (27-13) and corner kicks (8-4).

Next up for Fisher will be a tough road contest on Wednesday afternoon at Mitchell College. Game time is set for 3:30pm.
