Women's Soccer: Falcons fall at UMF

(Farmington, Maine) The Fisher Women's Soccer team dropped a contest this afternoon to the University of Maine-Farmington, 6-1 at Leib Field. The loss sends the Falcons to 5-6-1 for an overall record. Maine-Farmington slides to 5-5-1 in their season.

Freshman Ariana Artavia (Dallas, Georgia) led the offensive effort for the Falcons having the only goal of the game. On the defensive end, the key player was sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa) with 13 saves in her 90 minutes of play. Fisher also had 2 own goals in the loss.

Maine-Farmington's momentum started in the 2nd minute of the game with a goal by junior Sydney Belanger (Wells, Maine). The remaining 3 goals were made by sophomore Grace Mahmood (Oxford, Ct), junior Audrey Fletcher (Monmouth, Maine), and sophomore Abby Lash (Waldoboro, Maine.) The defensive effort was led by junior goalkeeper Lily Souza (Wiscasset, Maine) with 1 save.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the field on Sunday. Fisher will be traveling to Washington Adventist University for a 6pm start. The University of Maine-Farmington will be traveling to Cazenovia with a 1:30pm start time.
