(Nashua, N.H.) The Fisher Women's Soccer team earned a win over Rivier University, 2-1 this evening. The win sends the Falcons to 2-3-1 for an overall record. Rivier will slide to 0-2.

The offensive effort from the Falcon's started with an assist from sophomore Jenna McCullough (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) to sophomore Kelly Wallace (Hanover, Mass.) in the 32nd minute of the game to get the first goal. The momentum continued in the second half with another goal from freshman Iliana Fernandez (Hesperia. Calif.) in the 67th minute. The defensive pace was set by sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa) with 10 saves in the win for the Falcons.

Rivier's game was off to a slow start with no goals scored in the first half. In the 78th minute of the game, the Raider's would not give up without a fight when senior Makayla Zulon (East Bridgewater, Mass.) gave Rivier the first and only goal of the night. The defensive effort was set by junior goalkeeper Julia Cafferty (Tweksbury, Mass.) who had 9 saves in the loss.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the field this week. Fisher will travel to Vermont to play Northern Vermont-Johnson on Sunday with a 3pm start. Rivier will play tomorrow against Eastern Nazarene home at 7pm.
