Women's Soccer: Leo, Falcons fall in season opener

(Boston, Mass.) The Fisher College Women's Soccer team dropped a contest this afternoon to Emmanuel College, 3-0 at Clemente Field. The loss sends the Falcons to an 0-1 start to the season. Emmanuel slides to 1-0.

Sophomore Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa) led the defensive effort for the Falcons as the goalkeeper having 12 saves in her 90:00 of play. The offensive effort for Fisher was set by Senior Naomi Vivas (Mexico City, Mexico) with 3 shots in the loss.

Emmanuel was paced by sophomore Kaelyn Briscoe (Walpole, Mass.) who was assisted by freshman Morgan Fisher (Glen Allen, Ga) in the 25th minute of the game to give the Saints their first goal. Junior Rory Mahoney (Quincy Mass.) gave Emmanuel their second goal of the game in the second half while senior Aoife Delaney (Weymouth, Mass.) followed minutes later with the teams third goal in the win.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the field this week. Fisher will host Northern Vermont-Lyndon in Medford, Mass. on Monday with a 1:00pm start. The Saints will travel to MCLA to face the Trailblazers at noon on Saturday.
