MEDFORD, MASS. – Junior goalkeeper Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa.) made eleven saves as the Fisher College Women's Soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw this evening with visiting Framingham State under the lights at Hormel Stadium. The tie moves the Falcons to 6-7-2 on the season while the Rams are now 1-11-2.

It was a scoreless tie for much of the affair until senior Kelly Wallace (Hanover, Mass.) notched her 19th goal of the season in the 55th minute. The veteran forward corralled a free kick from junior Jenna McCullough (Buffalo Grove, Ill.) and was able to get her shot past a defender and the keeper for a 1-nil advantage.

The lead was short lived however as the Rams quickly found the back of the net themselves. After a hard foul that drew a yellow card, a free kick opportunity was granted for Framingham State. Junior Aurora Kilrain (Quincy, Mass.) placed her free kick to the far side post inside the 18 where it hit a couple of Falcon defenders before freshman Melissa Romeiro (Minas Gerais, Brazil) dished it over to grad-student Julia Rosano (Framingham, Mass.), who promptly kicked it just inside the post. It was Rosano's first goal of the year and it tied the game at one each in the 57th minute.

Fisher had an opportunity late in the contest during the 88th minute when sophomore Iliana Fernandez (Hesperia, Calif.) had a one-v-one opportunity but her shot was within the reach of the Framingham State keeper, who got just enough of it to keep it out of the net and preserve the draw.

Leo, as mentioned, made 12 saves out of 13 shots she saw on net as she now owns a 3-7-1 record. FSU junior keeper Regan Fein (North Attleboro, Mass.) stopped six of seven shots and is now 0-2-2 on the season.

The Rams held the slight advantage in shots (19-18) while the Falcons attempted one more corner (3-2).

Fisher will close out the 2023 regular season on Saturday afternoon as they host the University of Maine-Fort Kent. Game time is set for 1pm at Hormel Stadium. Framingham State will also be in action on Saturday morning (11am) as they get set to host Fitchburg State University in conference tilt.
