Women's Soccer: Falcons are Tournament Bound!

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA. – The Continental Athletic Conference has announced the four teams that will compete for the 2023 women's soccer title – and represent the conference in NAIA postseason play – during the championship tournament November 9-11 at Georgia Gwinnett College's Grizzly Soccer Complex in Lawrenceville, Ga.

Bellevue University (Neb.), Fisher College (Massachusetts), and Talladega College (Alabama) will join Georgia Gwinnett in the postseason event, based on their regular season performances.

Semifinal matches are scheduled for Thursday, November 9, at 11am and 2pm., with the winners advancing to the championship match on Saturday, November 11, starting at 4pm (All matches are being played in the eastern time zone).

The tournament champion will receive the CAC's automatic bid to the NAIA national tournament.

CAC Semifinal #1: Bellevue University (Neb.) vs. Talladega College (Ala.) – 11am

No. 1 seed Bellevue won its first league championship by winning a penalty kick shootout against Georgia Gwinnett College in last year's championship match in Lawrenceville. The Bruins are 11-2-1 this fall, winning all five of their October matches, and receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll.

No. 4 seed Talladega enters the postseason with a 4-8-1 record. The posted a 1-0-1 record against CAC opponents, defeating Oakwood University (Ala.) 12-0 on September 22 and earning a 3-3 draw against Florida College on October 12. The CAC Tournament will be the Tornadoes' postseason debut.

CAC Semifinal #2: Georgia Gwinnett College vs. Fisher College (Mass.) – 2pm

No. 2 seed Georgia Gwinnett stands 4-12-1 on the season but won two of its last three matches and has once again played a challenging schedule. The Grizzlies have faced six opponents ranked in the NAIA Top 25 national poll, along with two other teams receiving votes. The tournament hosts have captured conference championships from 2017-21.

No. 3 seed Fisher is 6-8-2 this season after going 3-2-2 in the October portion of their schedule. Two victories came against CAC opponent Washington Adventist University (Maryland), 3-0 on October 8 and 6-1 on October 22. The Falcons are making their first conference tournament appearance since the 2015 season.
