Women's Soccer: Falcons fall in Conference semifinals

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA. – The Fisher College Women's Soccer season came to an end this afternoon as the Falcons fell in the Continental Athletic Conference semifinals. The team, competing in their first conference post-season tournament since 2015, was on the wrong end of a 13-0 loss to tournament host, Georgia Gwinnett College. GGC will advance and play for the conference championship on Saturday against Bellevue University.

The goalkeeper combination of junior Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa.) and freshman Cefeldalina Molina Lara (Lawrence, Mass.) made 15 saves across the 90-minute match. Leo was the starting keeper made six first-half saves before Molina Lara finished the second half with nine saves. Senior Kelly Wallace (Hanover, Mass.) and freshman Raquel Castle (East Boston, Mass.) each recorded shots on net for the Falcons.

Georgia Gwinnett saw senior Kyara Armenta (New Westminster, Canada) score three times along with sophomore Kendra Davis (Snellville, Ga.) to propel the Grizzlies into their sixth consecutive conference championship game. GGC has captured five of the last six conference titles.

The 2023 CAC Championship Game will be played on Saturday afternoon with the winner advancing to the NAIA National Tournament.
