JOHNSON, VT. - The Fisher College Women's Soccer team lost the contest against Vermont State Johnson this afternoon, 6-2 at the Badgers home field. The loss sends the Falcons to 0-5-0. Johnson climbs up to 3-2-0.
The offensive effort for the Falcon's was led by freshman Anai Vazquez (East Boston, Mass.) scoring in the 11th minute, assisted by senior Kayla Dorn (Hampton, Ill), as well as in the 56th minute, assisted by senior Jenna McCullough (Buffalo Grove, Ill.). Fisher's defense was paced by senior Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa.) with 9 saves in her 90 minutes of play.
The Badgers offense was set by senior Riann Fortin (Newport, Vt.) scoring in the 32nd minute, assisted by sophomore Abby Davis (Longmeadow, Mass.), as well as the 62nd minute, assisted by junior Payton Fairchild (Ottawa, Ontario). Sophomore Maddie Power (Quincy, Mass.), sophomore Olivia Davis (Cadyville, N.Y.), freshman Jenna Jones (Medicine Hat Alberta), and Junior Ida Eames (Craftsbury, Vt.) were also able to pitch a goal in the Badgers victory. Johnson's Defense was led by freshman Sophia Johnson (La Center, Wa.) with 2 saves in her 90 minutes of play.
Both teams will be back in action when they return to the field this week. The Falconswill be playing against Suffolk University on Tuesday with a 7pm start. The Badgers will be traveling to the SUNY Potsdam on Saturday with a start time of 2pm.
