Women's Soccer: Falcons draw 1-1 tie with UMPI

MALDEN, MASS. – The Fisher College Women's Soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw with the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI). The Falcons now have a record of 1-6-1 while the University of Maine at Presque Isle sits at 3-5-2.

The Owls took the lead at 26:55 with a goal from senior Alexis Ireland (Howland, Me.), assisted by freshman Kayla MacLean (Ashland, ME). Fisher responded in the 38th minute when senior Kayla Dorn (Hampton, Ill.) scored, assisted by senior Jenna McCullough (Buffalo Grove, Ill).

The match saw a total of 12 shots for Fisher and 11 for UMPI. Fisher's goalkeeper senior Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa.) had 4 saves in the full 90 minutes. UMPI's keepers were freshmen Mia Voisine (Kent, ME) contributing 3 saves in her 45 minutes and Michaela Carney (Ashland, ME) adding 5 saves in her 45 minutes.

Next, Fisher will travel to the University of Maine Farmington on Oct. 8 at 3:30 p.m., while UMPI will visit Maine Maritime Academy on Oct. 19 at 3:30 p.m.
