CASTINE, ME. – The Fisher College Women's Soccer team fell 5-1 to Maine Maritime Academy this afternoon. The loss drops the Falcons to 2-8-2, while Maine Maritime improves to 6-4-3 on the season.
Maine Maritime's offense was led by Senior Kirra Magaña (Miami, Fla.) earned a hat trick in her time of play. Junior Mayako Brown (Frankfort, Maine) added two goals as well to seal the win for the Mariners.
Fisher's lone offensive highlight came from senior Jenna McCullough (Buffalo Grove, Ill.), who had a goal in the second half. In goal, senior Olivia Leo (Dunmore, Pa.) made 1 save in 45 minutes of play. For Maine Maritime, sophomore Isa Thesing (Sulphur Springs, Texas) recorded 5 saves in the full 90 minutes.
Both teams will return to action soon. Fisher will be traveling to Takoma Park, Maryland for two conference matchups, facing Washington Adventist University on October 21 and Spartanburg Methodist University on October 20. Maine Maritime will host the University of Maine-Presque Isle on October 19 at 3:30 pm.
