Women's Volleyball: Falcons fly past Curry, 3-0

MILTON, MASS. - The Fisher College Women's Volleyball team earned a win this evening over Curry College, 3-0 in the Katz Gymnasium. The victory sends the Falcons to 13-5 for an overall record. Curry slides to 3-13.

Senior Macy Barnes (Duarte, Calif.) led the offensive effort for the Falcons with 14 kills and 13 digs. Senior Aya Al-Juraishi (Walnut, Calif.) added 7 kills while freshman Alicia Tkach (Middleton, Mass.) and Caroline Saucier (Sarasota, Fla.) had 5 kills a piece. Sophomore Paola Velazquez (Caguas, Puerto Rico) also chipped in with 25 assists and 6 digs in the win for Fisher.

Curry was paced by senior Lauren Guzman (Cranston, RI) with 7 kills and 10 digs and senior Brooke Reissfelder (Biddeford, Mass.) provided help with 14 assists and 7 digs. Freshman Sonja Matheson (Voluntown, Conn.) contributed with 3 kills. Sophomore Lexie Jenkins (Burns, Wyo.) also chipped in with 2 kills and 5 digs in the loss for the Colonels.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court later this week. Fisher will be traveling to Washington Adventist University on Sunday for a double header starting at 4pm. Curry will be hosting Fitchburg State University on Saturday with an 11am start time.
