Women's Volleyball: Falcons tripped up at Suffolk

BOSTON, MASS. - The Fisher College Women's Volleyball team lost the contest this evening to Suffolk University, 3-2 at Smith Court. The defeat sends the Falcons to 6-3 as an overall record. Simmons slides to 6-2.

Senior Macy Barnes (Duarte,Calif.) led the offensive effort for the Falcons as she totaled 13 kills and 27 digs. Senior Aya Al-Juraishi (Walnut, Calif.) contributed 9 kills while senior Ashly Velazquez (Dowey, Calif.) and freshman Caroline Saucier (Sarasota, Fla.) gave 7 kills a piece. Sophomore Paola Velazquez (Caguas, Puerto Rico) also chipped in with 31 assists and 14 digs in the loss for Fisher.

Suffolk was paced by McKenna Keowen (San Ramon, Calif.) with 16 kills and freshman Grace Cervenka (Sugar Land, Texas) provided help with 12 kills. Sophomore Tatum Kalt (West Bloomfield, Mich.) contributed with 22 digs while senior Kenzley Bell (Lake Park, Ga.) gave 20 digs. Sophomore Jayla Martinez (Santa Fe, N.M.) also chipped in with 33 assists in the win for the Rams.

Both teams will be back in action when they return to the court on Saturday the 17th. Fisher will travel north to New London, New Hampshire for a 1pm start with Dean College. Suffolk will face Castleton University as well at Southern Maine for a 2pm and 3:45 pm start time in Gorham, Maine.
